The Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (JCWI)
JCWI are working towards a more fair and just immigration system in the UK. I donated an embroidery to JCWI on Windrush Day a day that celebrates the awesome contribution of the Windrush Generation, where around half a million people were invited to move to the UK from the Caribbean in the aftermath of World War 2, playing a huge part in rebuilding the British economy and country. Since the 1990s people of the Windrush Generation have been wrongfully deported and threatened with deportation due to struggling with more stringent demands to document their status, with many still effected by ongoing documentation issues. JCWI works with people struggling with these kinds of struggles. For more information on the work of JCWI https://www.jcwi.org.uk.
