Endangered Animal Stitching Challenge
I'm excited to explore some awesome animals in this stitching challenge! I'm hoping to raise awareness around these animals, the struggles they face and how we can help them out! And I'd love you to join in!
December 2021 is Stitch a Narwhal Month!
As part of the 2021 stitch an endangered animal a month challenge, it's stitch a narwhal month! We will be stitching these beautiful water based species who are under threat.. Narwhals are found in the Arctic Ocean and recognised by their long tooth, appearing like a horn. Narwhals are threatened by ocean noise and oil and gas development that increases shipping activity. Whales are sensitive to each others communications under the water and noise interrupts and masks these important communications. WWF work to reduce destructive human ocean activity and noise.. This month I'll be stitching a narwhal and donating the proceeds to WWF, read on for more info on the challenge and how to join in. To join in with the challenge stitch your own red wolf! It can be as simple, complicated or abstract as you like and tag and dm me and use the hashtag #endangeredanimalchallenge when you share it on instagram so that I can share your work in my stories. If you're not on instagram, feel free to drop me an email with an image of your stitch work at [email protected] with your name if you'd like me to include it. If you don't feel like stitching, another way to join in is to share the embroideries, facts and/or raise awareness by sharing these creatures on your instagram, website or when you're chatting to friends and family. I'm so excited to see your animal stitches! Let's do this! Happy stitching and sharing. Do reach out to me if you have any [email protected]. For each animal embroidery I donate 100% proceeds to WWF and related conservation and ecological organizations that work with endangered species and wildlife, other stitchers have done the same or picked a charity that works directly with the animals we are stitching. This is a totally optional part of the challenge, but feel free to reach out to me if you want more info on this part.
Here are the Endangered Animals I'll be working on each month, I'd love you to join me !
