These DIY Embroidery Kits and patterns are made with maximum makability and enjoyment in mind! I make each kit by hand with sustainable, natural, recycled and recyclable materials and are shipped in eco friendly packaging.. Each kit includes everything you need to make your own nature inspired embroidery including a needle, all the thread colors you need, a detailed instruction booklet, a bamboo embroidery hoop and natural embroidery linen with a pre-printed template ready for you to stitch your chosen mini beast or plant. I make each of these kits from scratch and release them in small batches on my Etsy shop and through wholesale in shops that support independent makers.
Developing Kits
I am excited about making kits that others can enjoy, sharing the love of learning how to stitch little creatures and plants. Often people will have some experience of stitching as a kid. I often feel that art practice becomes harder as jobs and life takes over, but I think having a kit that you can pick up whenever you have a few minutes is so soothing and helps to center people when feeling stressed and busy or just as a Sunday afternoon activity with a cup of tea. I start out with my own embroideries, using them as an outline for a kit. I then simplify them using some basic computer programs to create diagrams that are easy to follow, based on a system around colors like painting with numbers. I trace my steps back to starting an embroidery paying attention to every part of the process. I get at least a couple people to test each design before putting it out there for others to enjoy for maximum make-ability and stitching joy!

Tiger Moth on Yellow Embroidery Kit
This new kit is inspired by the beautiful apantesis nais tiger moth species, known by their distinctive white arrow markings on the bottom of their wings. These moths are found throughout North America. The yellow fabric is inspired by the moon and transverse orientation where moths use the light of the moon to navigate. $1 from each kit will be donated to the Butterfly Conservation Charity to help little winged beasts out.

All profits to Color of Change and the Equal Justice Initiative
This kit is part of a recent series about learning more from each other and working towards a more just, equal and anti-racist society. Butterflies and moths are awesome symbols of transformation and change. The transformation has to be deep and enduring, so this butterfly represents a commitment to change. This Papillio Ulysses butterfly, which is usually blue, is enriched with red, the color of Juneteenth that symbolisms strength and resistance. 100% proceeds from each pdf kit sold will be donated to racial and social justice organizations.
