If you are interested in commissions or have more questions you can reach me at rabbithatdesigns@gmail.com. As a solo maker and independent business owner, I deeply care about my embroidery process and making work that will bring the love and joy of nature into peoples lives. I am open to commissions for all my embroidery series, you can check out all the available embroidery series on my collections page. Embroidery is a long and intensive process, so pricing is worked out on estimated stitching hours depending on hoop size and level of detail for different designs.

"Working with Beth on a commissioned piece was a delight and her designs are even more stunning when appreciated in person. I am thrilled to have one of her large-scale butterfly zooms in my home as an expression of perpetual creativity and reinvention." - Margo T.
N.B. Pricing may vary depending on specifics

"I contacted Beth after purchasing one of her ready-made hoops and falling so in love with the craftsmanship that I knew I had to get a few more. She was kind, helpful and responsive over email and together we designed two gorgeous butterfly wing closeups. I was kept informed of progress, shown plenty of pictures, and when the package arrived it was carefully packed. The hoops are even more beautiful than I could have imagined and you can really see the attention to detail. I'll be back for more as soon as my budget allows!" Alex C.

"Beth did an amazing job on my custom embroidery. I asked for a specific species of bird for a gift for my wildlife biologist brother, and gave her free reign to choose a design to fit the size I wanted. The result was absolutely stellar! The design and colors she chose were better than anything I could have thought up, and the detail was superb. Her turnaround time was incredibly quick, and this ended up being one of the most unique and thoughtful gifts my brother has ever received. Beth is amazingly skillful, and worth every penny!" Why I Love Commissions
I love to work on commissions and develop designs especially for you. I make commissions on many of my embroidery series, which you can check out on my collections page and I am always open to nature embroidery ideas, current and past series include macro nature - close up embroideries of feathers and butterfly and moth wings, seashells, bees, insects, feathers, moths, butterflies, animals and botanics. Each embroidery involves long and intensive stitching processes.
I love sharing the joy of nature, exploring the diversity of species out there through stitching. Whether it's a specific creature, animal or plant that's meaningful to you or a loved one or you just love the immersive nature experiences in embroidery hoops, it's always a joy to know that these tailor made embroideries will be loved and enjoyed in homes and spaces. I know that creatures and plants store so much meaning for people and one of my favourite things about commissions is that I get to hear and learn about the stories behind why particular animals, mini beasts or plants speak to people in different ways. With the commissions process we get to work together on a design that explores nature in the the awesome form of embroidery.

'It is so beautiful and has far exceeded my expectations. I can’t wait to find a place for it in the house.' Cecelia C
FAQs
How do I choose a design?
You can check out all of my series and embroideries so far on my instagram on on this website, click here for collections. If you scroll through and see embroideries that speak to you I can send you similar images and we can agree on a design that suits you best. I can also send you reference images for the creature, plant or macro nature theme you'd like in an embroidery or different creatures or plant images as options. For the macro nature embroideries, sea shells, animals and botanics I already have a long to do list of reference images that I can share with you so you can pick an image that speaks to you.
How does shipping work?
I ship your embroidery as soon as it is completed and I've received payment. Shipping varies a great deal depending on the size of the embroidery and where it's traveling to, so shipping is on top of the price agreed for the embroidery. I can give you an estimate of a shipping cost before starting the embroidery to make sure you are happy with the estimated overall payment. The larger the hoop the higher the shipping cost. Also shipping aboard costs can vary a great deal.
How do I pay?
If you are in the States I can accept payment through paypal, venmo, Etsy (additional Etsy listing fees are added) or direct bank transfer. If you are commissioning an embroidery internationally the best method of payment is paypal, but I may also be able to accept a bank transfer depending on where you are based. A 50% deposit is requested on agreeing on an embroidery design and the remaining payment is due on completion as well as shipping costs.
How do you work out your pricing?
Pricing is based on how long each embroidery takes to make. The time each embroidery takes varies but embroidery is an intensive and long process, so even small embroideries can take 1 - 3 days to complete. The pricing is based on the average time it takes to make that size and theme of embroidery based on my experience. The pricing goes up as the size of the embroidery increases as does the time it takes to make the embroidery.
Do you accept returns?
I accept returns of undamaged embroideries within two weeks of delivery free of charge but customers would pay for return shipping.
What is the process of developing a design?
Developing a commission design is a 3 part process...
1: Choosing a Design, this is where you tell me about the design that interests you. If you want to see options and examples of embroideries and series check out my collection page.
2: Choosing a Size and Pattern, this is where you let me know what size feels good to you and I will provide some reference images or sketches of patterns for you to choose from.
3: Agreeing on a Design and Payment: At this point we agree on a final design, size of hoop and pricing.
How long does each embroidery take you to make?
Embroidery is an intensive and long process that involves a great deal of work. Even the smallest embroideries of 3 inches can take up to 1 day to make depending on the level of detail. The mid sized hoops at 6,7,8 inches can take between 1-4 days. The more detailed and the larger the size of the embroidery the longer it takes to make. The largest hoops I do can take between 3 - 6 days to complete. A day of stitching is around 7-8 hours a day.
Are embroideries easy to care for?
Embroideries are super easy to care for. In a similar way to photographs, or paintings they need very little care once they are hung up. They may need a dusting sometimes, which does require a careful but super simple process. I send out instructions for embroidery care and how to hang your embroidery with each commission.
Can I frame my embroidery?
Yes! Embroideries look awesome in frames, I would highly recommend Kate at Modern Hoopla for specialist embroidery frames. Some of the larger hoops of 18 and 23 inches may be harder to frame but Kate is always up for a challenge if you contact her directly.
